Advisory and consulting
Counsel from someone who has had to live with the advice.
Selective advisory work with agencies, suppliers, networks and investors in luxury travel and adjacent service businesses.
I take on a small amount of advisory work each year, in areas where running Avenue Two Travel means I have already made the mistakes.
Where I am useful
- Distribution and partner strategy. How supply, access and attention get allocated, and what changes when a business stops selling access and starts selecting on impact.
- Advisor productivity and operating method. Turning individual talent into a repeatable system through qualification, workflow and proposal discipline.
- Technology decisions in a service business. We replaced an entire back office and customer relationship system while continuing to trade. That experience transfers, including the parts that went badly.
- Scaling without dilution. What breaks in a service business as it grows, and how to protect the thing that caused the growth.
- Corporate development. I lead corporate development at Avenue Two Travel and have negotiated transactions at platform level.
How it usually works
Most engagements are one of three shapes. A single closed session with a leadership team. A defined project over a few months with a specific question to answer. Or a standing arrangement, usually a call every month or two, where the value is continuity rather than volume.
I am direct about fit. If the question is outside what I actually know, or if the honest answer is that you do not need outside help, I will say so early rather than late.
